the paintech Story

Bill Shaid grew up in the painting industry, spending his early years at his grandfather's commercial painting business, Charles Shaid Company. Bill's father Gene and his grandfather were both in the business together, and it was there that Bill fostered his love of the construction industry. He remembers riding in his father's pickup truck as a little boy, visiting jobsites around the region. After graduating with a degree in business administration from the University of Maryland, Bill went straight to work at Charles Shaid Company. In 1997, Bill started PAINTech.

PAINTech launched with painting and wallcovering, and steadily expanded its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of its customers— adding resinous and epoxy flooring systems, fireproofing, joint sealants, power washing, and sandblasting along the way.

Over more than three decades, PAINTech has grown both in geography and in expertise, taking on everything from large-scale new construction to targeted maintenance updates across a wide range of sectors. With a large, seasoned team and a full suite of specialty services, PAINTech brings the same family-instilled standard to every project — no matter the size, surface, or scope.
